They’re accusing the show of trying to influence the voting
It’s been a dramatic week for Love Island‘s Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster.
On Monday, the two least popular contestants from the public vote were dumped from the villa, leaving Frankie and Grace to pack their bags and catch a plane home to Blighty.
Poor Samira then decided she needed to follow her heart and left the show a few days later, giving an emotional speech before she left (there were a LOT of tears).
But now, it’s been revealed that the pair actually spent a romantic night together in the hideaway, meaning we probably saw a lot less of their relationship than perhaps we should have.
Frankie confirmed the news in a recent interview, though wouldn’t comment on his ‘Do Bits Society’ status.
‘It’s weird for me because obviously it’s a big thing for everyone in the villa. Everyone was cheering us into the hideaway, everyone was happy for us,’ the 22-year-old told to The Sun.
‘It was a big thing for me and Samira. But yeah it didn’t get shown for one reason or another. But yeah we did spend the night together.’
An ITV spokesperson told Metro: ‘We don’t necessarily show every moment in the hideaway owing to the constraints of it only being a one hour show.’
A pretty significant moment to skip over though, no? Especially when we’ve seen Megan in there twice? And it looks like Twitter agrees.
Suspicions have now been raised with viewers that Samira and Frankie’s relationship deliberately wasn’t shown in a bid to influence the public vote.
The good news is that Frankie has vowed to make Samira his girlfriend when he sees her – so at least there’s a silver lining for the couple!
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm with the results of the dramatic dumping.
