The royal family are becoming more relatable by the day, only seeing them increase in popularity.

Gone are the days when you would only see royalty waving from the Buckingham Palace balcony. Now they’re out and about, frequenting the shops and tuning into the same TV shows as us. And don’t even get us started on social media. Now even the Queen’s on Twitter, and the Fab Four are a hit on Instagram.

It’s hardly surprising therefore that the royals are probably not too thrilled about an upcoming documentary which is supposed to explain why Prince Charles is referred to as the ‘Pampered Prince’ by Palace staff at Clarence House.

The brand new documentary, Seeing the Royals: Inside the Firm, is set to stream on Amazon Prime, and according to Yahoo, it features revealing interviews with Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell.

According to the site, Paul lists some of the strangest requests he has received from Charles, leading to the prince getting the nickname.

‘His pyjamas are pressed every morning, his shoelaces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid,’ Paul Burrell reportedly explains in the documentary, going on to explain that he even ‘has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.’

In fact, Paul recalled a few instances where he was reportedly asked to fetch things that were next to him all along. ‘On one occasion, he rang me from his library and he said, “Oh Paul, a letter from the Queen seems to have fallen into my wastepaper bin. Would you pick it out?”’ he explained.

Seeing the Royals: Inside the Firm is coming soon to Amazon Prime, and unfortunately for Prince Charles, we imagine everyone will be tuning in.
