Do you hear us Dyson?
When the Dyson hairdryer came out in 2016, the world went nuts. And with good reason. They took an everyday hair tool and Dyson-ed the shit out of it.
Did you know that their Supersonic hairdryers now outsells all of their hoovers?!
So it comes as no surprise that the company had desires to expand further into the beauty category.
They are here to shake things up again and have taken on another tool – the curling tong.
Whilst their new Airwrap might look like your traditional curler, it is in fact rather different. (Classic Dyson, eh?!)
Instead of using high temperatures and clamps to curl the hair, it uses air currents and a milder heat – like the hair dryer. In the clip below, you can see that it looks like the hair is essentially attracted to the tong, like a magnet. And essentially that is what happens. Powered by a digital motor (much like the Supersonic) the air attracts hair and wraps it around the tube, in turn curling it.
However, this isn’t all that it does. The Airwrap comes with different attachments – three brush heads for volume and smoothing, two tong sizes for different width waves and curls and a pre-drying styler, that takes hair from wet to damp.
Similarly to the hairdryer, the Airwrap isn’t cheap. The basic set will cost you £399, but the belief is that thanks to 15 years of research and development the motor will last and last. Unlike other hair electricals that tend to have a short shelf life. Perhaps one to pop onto your Christmas list?
We can’t wait to get our hands on one to really test it out.
