I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s all about the mid-range designer brands right now. Of course, there will always be room for the likes of Gucci and Saint Laurent.

But the rise of labels like STAUD and Ganni proves there is a market for brands that are a little pricier and more special than the high street, but that you can still afford without saving up for six months.

With that in mind, here are six mid-price designers I’m getting excited about for AW18, as shared by Browns, all priced around £200-£400.

MATÉRIEL (launching soon)

This is a Georgian fashion collective created in 2012 on the foundations of Fashion House Materia, one of the biggest textile producers in the USSR, that dated back to 1949, and is focused on the new generation of home-grown design talents. Currently the designers are Lado Bokuchava and Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili.

Situationist

This brand by Irakli Rusadze is one of the few Georgian labels that has had success internationally. A marriage can crumble for many sad reasons, however Ethan opened up about why he thinks his own didn’t work out.

In an interview with 20/20 in 2004, he revealed that both his and Uma’s rampant film schedules were to blame. He said, ‘You know you’d come up with these rules: ‘One person works, the other person doesn’t. Well, then somebody’s always out of town.’’

While he did eventually say that he knows ‘she has the right to want that’, something about the comment smacks of sexism. Maybe he was just coming from a place of bitterness, as it seems like his career stalled a little while hers blew up. The year after they separated, he returned to one of the franchises that made him massively popular with Before Sunset – a sequel to the ambling romance Before Sunrise.

Ethan and Uma met on the set of Gattaca back in 1996 and later had two children together: Maya and Levon. After their separation in 2003 and eventual divorce in 2005, Ethan wound up marrying Ryan Shawhughes, a former babysitter to their children, in 2008. Uma on the other hand has been dating hotelier Andrew Balazs since 2015.

While Uma Thurman has been relatively quiet about the divorce, she did open up to Oprah about her ‘excruciating’ divorce and how her self-esteem had become ‘pretty mangled’ per PEOPLE.

It was rumoured that Ethan Hawke had cheated on her towards the end of her marriage in Montreal and Uma said, ‘There was some stuff like that at the end. We were having a difficult time, and you know how the axe comes down and how people behave and how people express their unhappiness. Our marriage failed. I should take full responsibility for the failure of my own marriage.’

Here’s hoping that they’re both much happier now, since it sounds like a harrowing experience for both of them.

Kensington Palace has just announced an exhibition at Windsor Castle, dedicated to the Royal Wedding. This will include both Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding outfits.

The Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress was of course created by Clare Waight Keller, who Meghan chose for her timeless and elegant aesthetic.

As for The Duke of Sussex, you won’t see his exact wedding outfit (the frockcoat uniform of the Household Cavalry) as he is still using it, however it will be an identical uniform.

Also on show will be the royal wedding tiara, and the gorgeous veil that had a special meaning sewn into it.

However the one thing you won’t see is Meghan’s second wedding dress, designed by Stella McCartney. The reason is because the evening reception was a private affair, rather than the couple’s very public wedding earlier on in the day. Therefore it will stay private.

Today marks 21 years since Princess Diana died tragically in a car crash in Paris.

While last year’s 20 year anniversary pulled out all the stops, with exhibitions and documentaries created in her name – not to mention the opening of the White Garden in Diana’s old Kensington Palace home, this year’s memorials are more private.

Prince William and Prince Harry are thought to be mourning Princess Diana’s death privately, with neither royal booked in for any official engagements all day.

‘There is no official engagement planned and we don’t have a comment on what the family would be doing,’ a Kensington Palace spokesperson told Express.co.uk.

‘I was very touched by it, but none of it sank in,’ Prince William explained of the tributes that were left for his mother 21 years ago. ‘All I cared about was, I’d lost my mother, and I didn’t want to be where I was. When we go out and do things like that, in order not to completely and utterly break down, we have to put on a bit of a game face. And you have to be quite strong about it because otherwise you’re a walking mess.’

Prince Harry agreed, ‘Looking back now, probably the last thing I wanted to do was read what other people were saying about my mother. Yes, it was amazing. It was incredibly moving to know, but at that point, I wasn’t there. I was still in shock.’

Last year, her two sons had a statue created and erected in their mother’s memory.

‘It has been 20 years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue,’ the brothers explained in 2017. ‘Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.’
